Christopher S. Pettit

His father, being a teacher, had a natural affinity for apples and, thus, was drawn inexorably to move his family to the apple capital of Southern California, the small town of Julian, about an hour inland from San Diego. There, Mr. Pettit was fortunate to have grown up without constant experiences with stoplights and McDonalds’ restaurants. There weren’t any movie theatres either so a great deal more time was spent hiking, camping, fishing and playing sports.

Of course, growing up in this idyllic setting is appreciated by the adults but the younger set is inevitably attracted by the excitement in the larger cities and Mr. Pettit was no exception. He applied to and was accepted at prestigious Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges, located just outside of Los Angeles where he majored in Anthropology and Psychology. While in college, Mr. Pettit frequently participated in community service (not the kind that is mandated by the Superior Court!) and worked at Cuyamaca State Park during the summer.

Mr. Pettit is an exceptionally articulate and bright young man and he soon realized that a career as an anthropologist would have its drawbacks. He wanted, however, to put his basic skills in psychology, acquired during his undergraduate studies, to work, so he set a path toward the legal profession. Following his graduation from Pitzer, Mr. Pettit attended Loyola Law School in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. During law school, Mr. Pettit worked at Loyola’s Disability Rights Legal Center and, later, volunteered with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego.

His analytical skills and ability to quickly grasp new concepts are drawing complements from our clients with whom he has worked. He has a gregarious and exceptionally pleasant personality that complements all of the talents that he has brought to our firm. Additionally, the field of workers’ compensation clearly holds a fascination for him, we believe that the collection of quirky and sometimes aberrant characters with whom he deals appeal to the anthropologist in him! We are certain that he will gain the confidence of our clients very swiftly and we are quite proud of his swift progress.

His limited spare time is spent with his family, friends and his dog Josie. He plays basketball and golf, enjoying camping and traveling as well.
